We have had some amazing stories told by recent campers who have stayed at Camp Christopher. I'd like to share some of those comments and some pictures.
I’d like to just start out by saying thank you. Thank you for your kindness, for your empathy and for the gift of peace from your land. What you have going on is a gift that can never be bought.
I’ve been a teacher and preacher on the healing powers of nature for sometime. Sometimes as a teacher, I forget the power that it holds until I am put back into nature and I’m quickly reminded again.
I now have a place I can go to to lose my mind and find my soul.
While there, I found myself grounding in small, steady joys: sprucing up the memorial gardens, painting rocks with bright colors and messages of hope, casting a line into the water, swimming under a blue sky, and warming up next to a crackling fire with good company. The air felt thick with grace. A space where tears were welcome, silence was understood, and laughter was holy.
I just had some of the most peaceful healing days of my life at camp Chris.
We have lots of openings on weekdays and a few weekends for the rest of this summer/fall. If the weather holds we may extend camping season to later in October. Stay tuned.
